On December 6, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) discovered loads of weapons and ammunition during search operations in the governorate of al-Quneitra and the region of Western Ghouta, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The weapons included a Soviet-made RPG-29 anti-tank weapon, several rounds of the US-made SMAW shoulder-launched rocket weapon, a Yugoslav-made M79 Osa anti-tank weapon along with several rounds, assault rifles, heavy machine guns and loads of ammunition of different calibers.

In a related development, the reconciliation committees in al-Quneitra handed over Israeli medical equipment and supplies to the SAA. Most of these equipment were supplied to the White Helmets organization during the last few years.
The SAA uncovers similar equipment and weapons caches on a regular basis. A day earlier, the army uncovered a large-amount of US-supplies weapons and ammunitionaround the city of al-Quneitra and the crossing of Nasib on the border with Jordan.
These weapons were left behind by radical militants, who withdrew from southern Syria few months ago. The militants likely planned to use the weapons to carry out terrorist attacks in the near future.
