Why did Britain, USA and Russia support Nigeria against Biafra during the 30 months Nigeria-Biafra civil war?

I believe is because they had interest in benefitting from Nigeria’s resources and because Biafra had very intelligent and smart, who would transform Nigeria’ resource in something awesome.

So to ensure they keep benefitting from Nigeria, seeing that they can play on the intelligence of non-Biafrans, they had no choice than to ensure Nigeria won Biafra.

Because they wanted Biafran oil — Britain through Shell BP and America through Chevron, Texaco and more. When the Soviets wanted to join the war if only Biafra would give them oil later, Ojukwu refused because he did not want his country to become a theatre of war for the then superpowers. If he had, the civil war would not have ended the way it did: millions more would have been killed.
